Women's golf team finishes third in conference

The Franklin Grizzlies women's golf team finished third at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship on October 12, 2008. Transylvania won the tournament with a score of 705 and Manchester College finished second with a score of 727.
Finishing behind Franklin College was Hanover College with a score of 738, Rose-Hulman with a score of 746, Anderson University with a score of 770, Defiance College with a score of 858 and College of Mount St. Joseph did not score.
Franklin’s Grace Adams finished fifth all-conference with a score of 174. Brittany Stevens finished seventh all-conference with a score of 177.
Remaining scores for Franklin include Natalie Daugherty with a 180, Brittany Brownrigg with a 190, and Kacey Bennett with a 201.
Adams, Stevens, Daugherty, Brownrigg, and Bennett collectively improved their score by 22 strokes on Day 2.
“We had a good time, but we were a little disappointed,” Grace Adams said. “We were off to a bad start on Day 1, but did much better on Day 2. The greens were lightning fast."
