HCAC perfection: Men 5-0 in conference

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Grizzlies came home and improved to 8-6 with an 84-71 win against conference rival Lions of Mount St. Joseph’s last Wednesday.

The Grizzlies stay perfect in the HCAC (5-0) and maintain a one game lead in the conference.
 
Dustin Marshall put up a career high 28 points with a bad knee. “Dustin cracked his knee on the hardwood on Tuesday and we were unsure of how it would affect his play. He played all 40 minutes and was sore afterward,” said head coach Kerry Prather.
 
The first half was full of excitement and and included a Will Conoley dunk off of a pass from Clayton Starrett.
 
The first half ended with a comfortable lead for the Grizzlies, 40-32. The Grizzlies were led by senior Dustin Marshall with 15 points. Freshman Will Conoley chipped in six points and pulled down five rebounds. Senior Jace Redman added four assists and John Yochum added four boards in the half.
 
Junior Michael Romes scored 15 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the Lions. Travis Huffman scored nine points.
 
Marshall led the Grizzlies with 28 points by shooting 6-of-10 from three point range. Redman finished with 14 points and a game high seven assists. Yochum put up 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. Conoley rounded out the double digit scoring on the Grizzlies side with 11 points and a game high eight rebounds. Catron pulled down seven rebounds.
 
Michael Romes put up a team high 27 points and 8 rebounds for the Lions. Huffman put up 22 points to round out the visitors’ scoring.
 
The Grizzlies will travel to Lexington, Kentucky tonight for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the Pioneers of Transylvania University.
