Momentary alarm
Student transported to hospital with flu-like symptoms; no flu diagnosis given
By Katie Coffin, May 20, 2009
Tuesday at 3p.m., a Franklin College student was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital with flu-like symptoms.
Terri Nigh, coordinator of student health services, verified through e-mail Wednesday that the student did not have any form of the flu.
Nigh cited the Center for Disease Control’s recommendations for students who are feeling ill. It says students should see a health care provider “if [they] develop an illness with fever and respiratory symptoms, such as cough, runny nose, body aches or other associated symptoms though rare, such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.”
