Meet the All-Conference Grizzlies

Mike Leonard – Coach of the Year
Head coach Mike Leonard has been named HCAC Coach of the Year for the third year in a row. He has earned the title for half of the six seasons he’s been coaching at Franklin College. He has led the Grizzlies to three straight 9-1 regular season records and two straight HCAC Titles with playoff appearances.

Chad Rupp
Senior quarterback Chad Rupp has been named the HCAC Offensive Player of the year for the second season in a row and first team All-HCAC for the third. Rupp has completed 211 of the 328 passes he has thrown this season, a 64.3 passing percentage. He has thrown for 2,954 yards and 32 touchdowns with nine interceptions and averages 295.4 yards per game. Rupp has an efficiency rating of 166.7. Rupp has school records in career completions (633) and touchdowns (603). Rupp majors in recreation and sports management and is one of the team’s four captains.

Dan McManus
Senior defensive end Dan McManus was awarded the Defensive Most Valuable Player. He was also named first team All-HCAC for the third season in a row. McManus leads the Grizzly defense in sacks with 11.5 for a total of 83 yards this season. He is third on the team in tackles this season with 59, 32 of which have been solo. McManus has 15.5 tackles for losses, which total 102 yards. He has forced three fumbles this season. McManus majors in recreation and is one of the team’s four captains.

Seth Qualls
Junior offensive lineman Seth Qualls has been named first team All-HCAC for the second consecutive season. He is a two-year letterman, who is one of the team’s four captains. Qualls majors in physical education.

Chad Schenkel
Sophomore offensive lineman Chad Schenkel has been named first team All-HCAC for the first time this season. He was named second team All-HCAC as a freshman. A season ago as the starting center, Schenkel was voted Rookie of the Year by his teammates. He is a one-year letterman, who majors in accounting.

Levi Smythe
Senior defensive lineman Levi Smythe has been named first team All-HCAC for the second consecutive season. Smythe is second on the team in sacks with five for 21 yards and has 44 tackles on the season, 23 of which are solo. He has intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble this season. Smythe is a four-year letterman, who majors in recreation.

Roshawn Hill
Senior defensive back Roshawn Hill has been named first team All-HCAC for the second consecutive season. Hill has 56 tackles – 38 of which were solo – on the season and seven and a half tackles for losses. He has intercepted two passes, recovered two fumbles and forced a fumble. He was last season’s defensive back of the year, as voted by his teammates. He is a three-year letterman, who majors in recreation with a minor in sports management and administration.

Neil Craig
Senior wide receiver Neil Craig has been named second team All-HCAC. Craig leads the team in receiving yards with 572.1 – an average of 57.2 per game – and is second in catches with 30 on the season. Craig has four touchdowns and his longest catch of the season went for 40 yards. He is a three-year letterman, who majors in accounting with a minor in business.

Kevin Lynch
Senior wide receiver Kevin Lynch has been named second team All-HCAC. Lynch leads the team in receiving touchdowns with seven. He is tied for second on the team in receptions with 30, and ranks fourth on the team in receiving yards with 383. He averages 38.3 yards per game and his longest catch of the season went for 78 yards. Lynch is a four-year letterman who majors in recreation with a minor in leadership.

Pat Hillenburg
Senior offensive lineman Pat Hillenburg has been named second team All-HCAC. Hillenburg is a two-year letterman, who majors in sociology and criminology.

Machy Magdalinos
Junior kicker Machy Magdalinos has been named second team All-HCAC. Last season, he was named first team All-HCAC. He went five-of-eight on field goals for the season, a 62.5 field goal percentage. He was three-for-four in the 20-to-29-yard range, 1-for-2 in the 30-to-39-yard range, 1-for-1 from 40-to-49 yards and 0-1from beyond 50 yards. His longest field goal came from 41 yards out. Magdalinos was 48-for-51 on PAT’s. He averaged 60.1 yards per kickoff. Last season, he was voted special teams MVP by his teammates. Magdalinos holds school records in extra points in a season (62) and most consecutive extra points in a season (53). He is a two-year letterman, who majors in health sciences with minors in business and coaching and fitness.

Tony Gregory
Senior wide receiver Tony Gregory, who returned this season after last season’s injury, has been named second team All-HCAC. He was named first team All-HCAC in 2006. He leads the Grizzlies in receptions with 33. Gregory ranks second on the team in receiving yards with 475, an average of 47.5 per game. He has five touchdowns and his longest catch of the season went for 60 yards. Gregory majors in sociology and criminology with a minor in religion.

Nick Rulon
Senior defensive lineman Nick Rulon has been named to second team All-HCAC. Last season, he was named to the All-HCAC Honorable Mention team. Rulon was fifth on the team in tackles with 51, 16 of which were solo. He had 3.5 tackles for losses for a total of 34 yards. He intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. Rulon is a one-year letterman, who majors in recreation with a minor in business.

Jamison Foley
Senior linebacker Jamison Foley has been named second team All-HCAC. He was second on the team in tackles with 62, 29 of which were solo. Foley had one tackle for a loss and intercepted a pass. He is a three-year letterman, who majors in recreation.

Nick Cochran
Sophomore Linebacker Nick Cochron – the Grizzlies’ tackles leader with 86, 39 of which were solo – has been named second team All-HCAC. He intercepted two passes on the season. Cochran is a one-year letterman who majors in journalism.

Scott Martin
Senior defensive back Scott Martin, who was named to the All-HCAC second team, had 45 tackles on the season, 34 of which were solo. He had 4 tackles for a loss. He intercepted three passes, forced a fumble and blocked a punt. Martin is a three-year letterman, who majors in recreation with a minor in business.
