The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday a mini-camp game will be played June 6 at Franklin College.

The decision, released at a press conference by Colts president Bill Polian, came after the previous success of a mini-camp away from Indianapolis at Ball State University in 2004.

Franklin College president Jay Moseley is thrilled by the opportunity.

"We're, of course, delighted to host this mini-camp," said Moseley, who accompanied Polian at the press conference. "We're delighted to provide this kind of access.... We would welcome everyone to come down."

The mini-camp game is one of three games being hosted by the Colts, and will include all players on the Colts roster, including those signed after the NFL draft this weekend. There will also be a chance for autographs.

Coach Jim Caldwell expressed looking forward to coming to Franklin to practice, even joking it would give "the feel of a road game."

Colts president Bill Polian wants to use these opportunities to help get in touch with the community.

"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to let the fans ... reach out and touch the team, see them in person," Polian said. "It's great for our team and great for our fans."

The event will cost $10. All proceeds will go to benefit college expenses. Moseley said the money would be used to rent out additional bleachers to bring the capacity of Faught Stadium to 5,000. Additional money will help provide more parking, food and security to the games.
