Artist booked for GGP weekend
Recording artist Corey Smith will be performing as part of the celebration during the Grizzly Grand Prix weekend.
Smith’s performance on campus will be on April 30 at 9 p.m. in the Spurlock Center.
Student tickets will be sold for $5. Public ticket prices have yet to be determined.
Smith, a recording artist with his own label, Undertone Records, has six previous releases. "If I Could Do It Again" and "Twenty-One" are two of his more well-known songs.
The 32-year-old Smith started his career by playing the bar scene in Athens, Ga. He said he owes some of his popularity to file-sharing, which he encourages among his fans.
"I want my music to be heard by as many people as possible, so I’m just grateful that people are out there spreading it around, Smith said on his Web site. "It’s what’s made my career possible."
Many student organizations on campus have come together to sponsor the event.
More details and information about the concert will be available in the coming weeks.

Cannot wait for this show. As a person who has seen him live, believe me, he is one of the best live shows I have ever seen. Can't wait to watch from the front row.
