SEE
Funny or Die
They were the makers of “The Landlord,” the hilarious Internet clip of Will Ferrell reasoning with his landlord who turns out to be a little girl. It’s funnyordie.com, and they are the comedic equivalent to youtube.com. What’s great about this website is they have a vast amount of videos, but they also include many well-known celebrities such as Ferrell, Judd Apatow, James Franco and John C. Reilly. And with all of the election coverage, there’s sure to be plenty of spoofs and covers of your favorite presidential candidates.
HEAR
Pandora Radio
It’s easy to listen to music online. Go to pandora.com. On the opening page, type in the name of any band, then they’ll hook you. The Web site creates a radio station for you that corresponds to that band’s sound. It gives you options to skip songs, give songs “thumbs up” or “thumbs down”, or even ban songs. If anything, it’s a great way to find new bands you might like. It’s also a new alternative you can turn to instead of the usual iTunes store.
TASTE
Save the leftover seeds
It’s pumpkin carving time, but don’t throw those seeds out so fast. Cook them instead.
1. Rinse off and spread out on a paper towel to dry overnight.
2. Place a tbsp. of oil or butter in a dish and heat for 30 seconds. Toss in pumpkin seeds. Spread seeds out evenly on bottom of dish.
3. Microwave for 7-8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
4.Then sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, etc. Toss to coat.
5. Let cool and then munch on.
READ
“John Lennon: The Life” by Philip Norman
This biography is said to be the best of Lennon to date. It had help along the way. Norman received the blessing of Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney, and he was granted access to a lot more of Lennon’s personal baggage. He is the first to see the private papers of his aunt, who took Lennon in when his parents’ marriage fell apart. He also got sight into the singer’s notebooks and cassettes filled with Lennon’s memories. It will be a sure fire way of looking into a life that not many have been given access to in a long while.
LIVE
Get organized
Organization is a part of life, and it makes it a lot easier to get along in that life, if you actually use it. It lessens stress because everything is where it’s supposed to be. It also makes you look better because it makes you seem more put together. Take time this weekend to go through your room and see how organized you are and how you can help your situation. You’ll be surprised how much junk you’ve stowed away over the years (or weeks) that you can get rid of.
